Happy Days (a.k.a. Number One) restaurant was there in Protaras since years ago (seriously, when nothing else was around) and still maintains that cozy and relaxed family business atmosphere with no sacrifice to the quality of food or service. And maybe it’s because of this simplicity that it is not getting the appreciation it truly deserves. Restaurant is highly rated on both Facebook and TripAdvisor, but is almost never crowded and therefore is very attractive for when you are looking for a place to eat with your dog.
Since years ago, it was always a safe place to go for a bite after you get tired of occasional disappointment from other pubs and restaurants in the area and it used to be a huge hit among locals for its crepes before crêperies were even a thing.
Recently they have updated their menu to the unconventional concept, where you can order various dishes from different Mediterranean cuisines (French, Spanish, Greek, Cypriot, Italian) with an option to order other tourist favorites like English breakfast, club sandwich and of course the famous crepes. This makes the whole dining experience very special as not only you can find dishes that are not otherwise available anywhere else in Protaras, but you can also combine it with that country’s beer too (Peroni, Estrella etc.). The meals are simple yet tasty and not overpriced.
Restaurant has a big and spacious terrace with the view to the hotel’s poolside and the sea, with plenty of tables to sit outside and enough space for your dog to lie down.
We cannot say that they were not surprised when we came to dine there with our dog, but we quickly found a place to sit down a bit further from everyone so that no one would be disturbed. Hopefully furry friends have become more common visitors to this restaurant so that we all can enjoy it too!
