We couldn’t be happier to see how much more life has been brought into the old town of Nicosia, with great new restaurants, cafes and bars opening in the recent years not only in the most popular Ledras and Onasagorou streets, but also around these common areas. The word is that if you are looking for something different and good – just go a little bit off Onasagorou and you won’t be disappointed.
The Market Company has been no exception to the rule since its opening in 2012. It quickly became a very trendy and popular place amongst the locals making it quite difficult to get a table without making a reservation first. It is a cool and relaxed café/winery offering a variety of small dishes that go well with your drink. It is not meant to be the place to have your dinner, but it won’t leave you starving either. It is not just some snacks and food bites that they offer but rather some special unique dishes in a bit smaller scale. Their breakfast and brunches are also something not to miss, so we are definitely coming back for that!
Their menu is in some sort of way unique – it is short yet complete and all meals come with their own twist. It is something you know, but cooked and presented in a little bit different way from what you are used to. Plates are small, so you better order several dishes for the table and share (the prices don’t bite!). And the taste….everything was amazing! Don’t miss out on mini burgers, mushrooms, fried calamari…eh, what the heck, the menu is quite short, so just try everything in several goes

As with regards to our experience, we didn’t have any troubles in finding a table even by just walking-in as we usually have our dinner a little bit before the rest of the hungry crowd. We were up for some light meal so the menu looked very appealing to us and the choice of just three dishes amongst two of us was exactly what we needed (but do order more if you come really hungry). We were extremely pleased with the quality and taste of the food as well as the speedy service.
And Buddy? We had no issue with bringing him with us whatsoever. The staff didn’t mind having him laying in their way, but other than that we didn’t get any special treatment either. We liked the fact that the place is not in a busy street and there was minimum traffic since Buddy can relax much more this way. And the choice of tables outside was quite big as well.
A true value for money place and we will be sure to come back!
