As soon as it was opened, Piatsa Gourounaki became a hit amongst the locals and continues to be one of the most popular restaurants in Nicosia (No. 3 according to TripAdvisor). And since it is located in the dog-friendly Ledra-Onasagorou-Faneromenis streets where there is barely any place to find where dogs would not be accepted, this “souvlageri” welcomes pooches too!
The idea of Piatsa Gourounaki is to offer simple and delicious Greek food at very affordable prices. Their menu includes chicken, pork, lamb, two kinds of kebab, lamb chops and pansetakia, all cooked on grill. You can also choose from a variety of side dishes, sauces, dips and salads. The best and most popular items on the menu are, of course, the platters, which offer the best value for money experience.
Due to its coziness and friendliness as well as great food, the place quickly became the No. 1 souvlaki house in Nicosia. However, unlike other souvlaki take-out places, PIatsa Gourounaki has its own vibe and simple, yet pleasant décor.
Considering its location, the place is quite large and has many tables outside, so you should not have problems to find a place to sit with your dog. But, be aware, the place is very popular and is usually always almost full. The good news – they do not make reservations and the “rotation” is very quick (they serve food very promptly), so they should be able to fit you in in no time.
